SQUARED AND CROSSED

This game is played on a 12x12 square board with the following setup:

SQUARES - (represented by soldiers in the diagram) Move and capture one cell orthogonally. They can only capture Crosses. CROSSES - (represented by Kings in the diagram) Crosses can jump and capture up to two cells diagonally. They can only capture Squares. GOAL - The player wins by capturing either all the Crosses or all the Squares of the opponent.

 

An example Green moves. The assault was done on the squares, there is only one left for each player.  Green proceeds with the attack: d10-b8, a9-a10, d9-b11, a10-b10, b8-a9 and wins by trapping the last black square.
