KRĘGLE SZACHOWE

Traditional Poland

This game is played on an 9x9 square board:

  • SETUP - Players decide which 3x3 pattern (or patterns) should they try to emulate on the center area
  • TURNS - At each turn, each player moves a friendly stone.
    • stones move to an diagonally adjacent empty cell
    • stones capture, by custodian, a line of one or more enemy stones
    • captured stones do not leave the board, but are placed on any empty cells by the capturer
      • the pieces must land on a same color square (the game is played on a Chess-like board, on a Go board the piece must follow parity, which lacks clarity)
  • GOAL - Wins the player that achieve, with his stones, the initially decided 3x3 pattern at the center

Some suggested winning patterns, from the game's BGG page:

–o– | ooo | ––o | ooo | ––o | o–o
ooo | o–o | ––o | ooo | –o– | –––
–o– | ooo | ooo | ooo | o–– | o–o

The game seems very hard to finish, if the winning pattern also require that no enemy stones must be at the center.
